1. Comparatives là gì?
Ta dùng comparatives để so sánh hai người, hai vật, hai nơi chốn hoặc hai sự việc.
Subject + be + comparative adjective + than + noun/pronoun
English is more interesting than math.
Ghi nhớ: khi so sánh hai đối tượng, ta thường dùng than.
2. Tính từ ngắn
Với đa số tính từ ngắn, thường là tính từ có một âm tiết, ta thêm -er.

3. Quy tắc chính tả khi thêm -er
Gấp đôi phụ âm cuối
Khi tính từ ngắn có dạng phụ âm-nguyên âm-phụ âm, ta thường gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm -er.
big → bigger
hot → hotter
thin → thinner
Đổi y thành i
Với tính từ kết thúc bằng y, ta đổi y thành i rồi thêm -er.
happy → happier
easy → easier
busy → busier
4. Tính từ dài
Với tính từ dài, ta không thêm -er. Ta dùng more + adjective.

5. So sánh bất quy tắc
Một số tính từ không theo quy tắc -er hoặc more. Các em cần học thuộc.

6. Superlatives — So sánh nhất
Ta dùng superlatives để so sánh một người/vật với cả nhóm từ ba đối tượng trở lên.
